Packaged software/hardware solutions for fixed asset tracking are a mainstay of Aurora’s system solution offerings. The main advantages of a packaged solution are that the software comes ready-to-run, with complete documentation, and it supports off-the-shelf bar code scanning hardware.

In circumstances where a packaged solution is not workable, we are very capable of creating customized versions of our fixed asset tracking software program for clients who need some feature or function that’s missing from an off-the-shelf system. (The main UN buildings in New York City track thousands of assets with one of our client-specific systems!)

Aurora can provide any or all of the following components of a FATS (Fixed Asset Tracking System):

• Durable, preprinted bar code labels, as few clients find that printing durable labels on their own is even remotely cost-effective.
• Mobile batch bar code scanning terminal bar code scanner (AKA portable bar code reader) — a battery-powered hand-held device, used to remotely scan bar codes and collect asset audit data for later upload to a PC.
• Data collection & communications software, residing in the mobile scanning terminal.
• PC-based database, reporting, and communications software.

You'll need to contribute one or more (networked) PCs to run the software and a report printer to generate management reports regarding the state of your fixed assets to complete the system. Everything else can come from us!
