By our terms, such a system consists of the following components:
- Label design and printing software
- A thermal transfer or direct thermal label and tag printer
- Blank or preprinted labels or tags
- Thermal transfer ribbon (if necessary)
- A Windows PC
We can provide you with all of the above—except for the PC!
Yes, you could drive thermal label and tag printers with a software program like MS Word or Excel, because they do come with Windows printer drivers. The trouble we've found is that most every standard Windows program believes that the tangible output from a program is a report, printed on a letter- or legal-sized sheet of paper! Using bar code printing software that is designed to be used with thermal printers - which are a very different animal in the printer kingdom - is infinitely faster and better than using most other software programs.
